Hey everyone, it’s Louise, welcome to our recipe page. Today, I’m gonna show you how to prepare a special dish, chicken gyros. It is one of my favorites. For mine, I am going to make it a bit tasty. This will be really delicious.

Chicken Gyros is one of the most popular of current trending meals in the world. It is enjoyed by millions daily. It is easy, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. Chicken Gyros is something that I’ve loved my entire life. They’re nice and they look wonderful.

To begin with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can have chicken gyros using 13 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Chicken Gyros:
  1. Get 15 x chicken thighs
  2. Prepare 445 g x natural yoghurt
  3. Get 1 x lemon
  4. Prepare 2 x tbsp olive oil
  5. Make ready 1 x handful fresh parsley and mint
  6. Get 1 x tsp dried oregano
  7. Get 4 x cloves garlic
  8. Take 2 x tsp paprikia
  9. Make ready 2 x tsp cumin
  10. Make ready 2 x tsp chilli powder
  11. Get 2 x tsp ground coriander
  12. Take 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  13. Take 1 x tbsp salt
Instructions to make Chicken Gyros:
  1. For the marinade combine yoghurt, spices, salt and herbs in a bowl
  2. Still for the marinade add crushed garlic, oregano and lemon juice
  3. To finish the marinade add olive oil and a few twists of black pepper, now make sure your chicken thighs have no skin bone or gristle attacked before mixing well with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours.
  4. To prepare the onion base cut a large onion in half and place either 2 skewers either side of the centre or 1 directly in the centre into the flat side, turn over and push the skewers through so that the flat side of the onion is now the base with skewers pointy ends upwards.
  5. Build the skewer by slotting chicken thighs down the spikes to the base, if using 1 central skewer rotate each thigh by 90 degrees so that the weight is distributed evenly. Place in the oven on it's highest setting for about 1 hour, the idea is that it should stand upright, however I have done this twice now once with 2 skewers and once with 1 and both times the gyros fell over and made a total mess of my oven to you can lay it on it's side and turn it a few times
  6. Probe the centre to make sure it reaches 72c 161f and let it rest for 15 - 20 minutes before carving. I served mine with pita bread, coleslaw, garlic mayo and chilli sauce… bloomin lovely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oi0jUxUe7gc
