The ingredients needed to make Puran Poli:
  1. Make ready 1 cup maida / all-purpose flour
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup Wheat flour
  3. Take 1/2 cup oil

  5. Take 1 cup chana dal
  6. Prepare 1 cup jaggery
  7. Take 1 tablespoon Cardamom powder
  8. Prepare as needed Water
  9. Make ready 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
Steps to make Puran Poli:
  1. Take 1 cup of chana daal and 1 table spoon of termeric powder add water to it and boil them in a cooker for 3 whistles.
  2. Till chana boils let's knead the dough. In a bowl take maida, wheat flour, salt, 2 spoons of oil add water as required and knead the soft dough. Apply oil on it and rest it for 10-15 min
  3. Remove water from boiled chana add jaggery and keep it on gas until jaggery melts completely. Once it starts coming to thick switch off the gas.
  4. Let it cool down (to room temperature) then take it into mixi jar and grind it until chana grinds completely and becomes soft.
  5. Now take a dough again knead it and make small pieces out of that.
  6. Fill Puran into that and apply oil on it.
  7. I have used silver foil to make poli. You can also use belan to make poli.
  8. On tawa cook Puran poli gently on both the sides.
  9. Have it with Mango Seekarni
  10. Also you can have it with ghee.
