- For the dough- Knead a soft dough with wheat flour, oil and water as required. Cover it and keep it aside for sometime.
- For the puran: In a pressure pan keep the washed chana dal. Add water only that much that the dal gets immersed in it fully.
- Cook the dal for 2 whistles and then simmer the flame and cook for 15 minutes. Switch off the gas.
- After the pressure is released. Open the pan and remove the extra water from the dal.
- In a mixture jar grind the dal and transfer the grounded dal to a nonstick pan. Cook till excess water burns out, stir occasionally.
- Once it starts to become hard, add sugar and mix well. Cook for few more minutes. Let it become a little dry.
- Now add the remaining ingredients of the puran to the pan. Mix everything properly and cook for about two minutes..
- The spatula with which you are mixing should stand straight in the mixture, your mixture is ready. Switch off the gas. Let this mixture cool at room temperature.
- Make small balls from the cooled puran. Also make same sized balls of the dough too.
- Roll a small roti and place the puran ball in it and cover it with the dough. Press it down and roll it into semi thick roti.
