The ingredients needed to make Puran Poli:
- Make ready 1 cup Chana Dal soaked in water
- Prepare 1 cup Jaggerygrated
- Take 1/4 tsp Nutmeg powder
- Make ready to taste Salt
- Prepare as needed Ghee
- Prepare 2 cups Maida
- Prepare 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
Steps to make Puran Poli:
- Knead Maida along with some salt and one tsp oil.Add enough water to make a tight dough.Keep aside.
- Take soaked chana Dal and cook till tender in cooker with little water.
- Now once Dal is cooked add jaggery to it and mix.Put on heat again & keep stirring till this mixture thickens.
- Add nutmeg powder and cardamom powder to the Chana Dal, jaggery mixture.This mixture is called puran.
- Take off from the heat and cool.
- Now make small balls from the Maida dough that was kneaded earlier.
- Make cavity like with hands from the dough balls and stuff the puran approximately 2tsp in it.
- Now take board & rolling pin.Dust flour on it and roll to a little thick like roti.
- Heat a griddle and roast the puran Poli on it.In the end add ghee and flip over again.Take from once done.
- Repeat same with remaining dough and puran.
