Pudina Khakhra - The main ingredient is pudina, while preparing this khakhra. Khakhra is a thin cracker common in the Gujarati cuisines of western India, especially among Jains. It is made from mat bean, wheat flour and oil. It is served usually during breakfast.
Steps to make Masala Khakhra:
- Take a bowl add wheat flour cumin seeds carom seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder oil and salt and mix well.
- Add water and knead to make a soft dough.
- Divide the dough into equal sized balls and roll out each ball into very thin chapatis.
- Heat a thick tawa put the chapati on it and roast on slow heat.
- Apply a little oil/ghee on both sides. Turn and hold it down with a wooden press.
- When it is crisp and light brown in colour on both the sides it is done.
- Remove allow it to cool and store in an airtight container carefully as it is very crisp and may break.
- For Topping:
- Just before serving place a khakhra on a serving plate.
- Spread onion, capsicum, cucumber,tomatoes,chaat masala, salt and olives.
